Thoresby Hall Wedding | Rebecca & Joshua

Thoresby Hall Wedding

Wedding Photography At Thoresby Hall

The rustic charm of Thoresby Riding Hall provided the perfect backdrop for Rebecca and Joshua’s wedding. The isn’t the first time i’ve hopped up to Thoresby as a Nottingham wedding photographer. This Victorian Riding Hall is nestled in north Nottinghamshire.

Both bridal and groom preparations took place separately in the nearby Sherwood Hideaway lodges. I met Rebecca and Joshua in the heart of Sherwood Forest. Rebecca and Joshua had hired out two of the lodges and had spent a few days here relaxing with the family and dogs before the big day.

Here, Rebecca was joined by her bridesmaids. I really like the deep colour tones of their dresses and flowers. This colour scheme continued in the venue and was perfectly complimented by the rustic, stripped back elegance of Thoresby. Here we had large airy spaces, soaring ceilings, exposed brickwork and brick arch features to work with. A perfect place for individual style.

Bestwood Lodge Micro Wedding | Heather & Ash

Bestwood Lodge Winter Wedding

Micro Wedding

December 2020 saw me photograph my first “covid wedding” and it proved to be quite a different experience. The wedding was at Bestwood Lodge Hotel in Nottingham. Heather and Ash were married in a very intimate ceremony with just Heather’s parents and two friends as witnesses.

Bestwood Lodge

Heather got ready in Bestwood lodge’s bridal suite in the very capable hands of make up artist Hannah Finn and hair stylist Helen Sutcliffe. Although it was s small event, it was definitely a happy one. Ash had a beaming smile all day and his cheery jokey nature kept spirits high. This definitely shines through in the pictures.

After the ceremony it was time for a confetti walk and formal photos, then back inside for the cutting of the cake. This was followed by the playing of video messages for the bride and groom from family and friends who couldn’t be there in person to celebrate.

After the guests went home I was able to capture some more intimate portraits of Heather and Ash around the grounds of Bestwood Lodge Hotel.

Risley Hall Wedding Photographer | Rebecca & John

Risley Hall Wedding Photography

It was an absolute pleasure to spend the day photographing Rebecca and John’s wedding reception at Risley Hall this summer after their marriage in Ireland a few days earlier. It was a lovely intimate day with family and close friends and it was fantastic to spend it with them as their Risley Hall wedding photographer. Family and friends had travelled from Ireland and as far afield as New Zealand to celebrate with the happy couple.

Preparations

I joined the girls at Rebecca’s parents’ house to photograph their bridal preparations which were very relaxed. I was made to feel very at ease and was able to capture some great moments. Family and friends continually stopped by at the house to see the bride in her stunning wedding dress and to wish her well.

Celebrations

The wedding reception was held at nearby Risley Hall which is situated in between Nottingham and Derby. Rebecca and John actually got married a few days beforehand in Ireland so just chose to have a couple of readings at Risley Hall in front of their family and friends before a traditional sit-down meal, complete with quirky doughnut-style wedding cake. Dancing soon followed, and a fabulous time was had by all.

If you are looking for your own Derbyshire Wedding photographer then please don’t hesitate to get in touch as I would love to hear from you.

Here are a few of my favourites from the day.
